Blog 2.0

We're on about week 4 of quarantine, and so I'm ticking things off my to-do list. And this is something that has been on my list for awhile. The hardest part for me of being an artist is the business side of art. So, for my new quarantine resolution I'm going to start posting new blog entries. I post a lot on m facebook page, but that's a mash up of real life/artist life which are too entangled for me to even begin to sort it out.

Today I'm working on two puppets that use an umbrella mechanism to flap their wings. And by umbrella mechanism I mean an actual umbrelI that I dissected. and reassembled. I'll document and post step by step about this later, for right now I just need a jumping off point and I am perpetually mid project so this seems like as good a time as any.

Also, while I am working today I'm watching/listening to a really great youtube video about making clockwork mechanisms. This guy is really great at explaining steps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPY9cJS3eHo
